Larry Green Electronic Organist
I started playing at the age of 7 after getting
interested in organ music through watching and listening to my mentor Billy
Duncan, who played the Hammond Organ, and which I was brought up on. My first
public appearance was at the age of 9 at the Co-op club in
Portsmouth. I became the youngest member of the
“Hampshire Theatre Organ Trust”, aged 10 and made my first Radio Broadcast ,
aged 11, after meeting top theatre organist Eric Lord, who presented a weekly
show for Radio
Blackburn.
At the age of 12, started doing functions with my brother, who learnt to play
drums and were known appropriately as “The Green Brothers”.
I never got into Sequence dancing until 1996,
and this was only due to the untimely death of Billy Duncan, who was very
well known all around the country, and it was only the fact that Billy had
some outstanding bookings, that his drummer at the time, Joe Hornby, got in
contact with me to see if I would be interested.
My first sequence dance was at Addlestone in
Surrey in October 1996, and since then have
been doing Ballroom & Sequence dances all over the country, the biggest to
date being the I.SD.C. Bridlington Festival every year since 1999, to an
audience of approximately one thousand people.
I have also made thirteen CDs, which are all
listed on the information page, along with full track listings, and sample
music files, I hope you enjoy them.
