To all my wonderful dancing friends, After very long consideration, I have made the decision to announce my retirement from the music business from 1st June 2022.I have made this decision after being in the business for almost fifty years.I started playing in public at the age of nine years old in 1972 working as a duo with my brother on drums around the Portsmouth social clubs.I have been a full time professional for the past twenty one years & having had the pleasure of playing all over the country in some wonderful places to wonderful people who I can now call friends.I have also had the pleasure & privilege of playing for all of the major sequence dance festivals in Bridlington, Southport & Blackpool. My sincere thanks go to the late Stuart Singleton, Audrey Singleton, Jill Whitter, David Bullen, Carol & Peter Parry & Sandra Wilson for allowing me to be part of those prestigious festivals.I have also produced 36 solo cd’s, all through Maestro Records who I would like to personally thank for all of their help, hard work, & for producing my albums. It hasn't always been easy or always gone smoothly trying to find new material to record but I hope the end results have always been worthwhile & a big thank you to everyone for buying my cd’s & playing them in their halls & homes.I would also like to say a big thank you to everyone that has supported me over the years, from those that have booked me to play at each venue & for everyone that has attended my dances & come up at the end of the dance to tell me how much they had enjoyed their evening. Having had so much time to reflect over the past year or so during lockdown, I believe that it has made us all realise just how precious life is which is why I have made this decision. I hope to see as many of you as possible at my dances within the next twelve months, but if not sometime in the future. Stay safe & Happy dancing to you all. Larry.x

I have now been playing keyboards for just over forty years, and was brought up on the Hammond organ, moving on to an Elka X605 organ in the 80’s then a Technics C300 portable organ in the early 90’s.In 2003 I decided to move away from the cumbersome organs & moved onto Yamaha keyboards which was a psr 8000 & then consequently moved through the range of Tyros keyboards to the latest Tyros 4 which I use now.

I have been playing for ballroom, latin, sequence & old time dancing since 1996 following in the shoes of my mentor Billy Duncan who was very well known on the dance circuit in the 70’s & 80’s.

My recordings now total over 20, most of which can be purchased through the Maestro records website, who are listed on my “links” page.

I have been very privileged to have performed at all of the major sequence dance festivals, namely Bridlington, Southport & Blackpool, and in 2010 had a very brief appearance in a BBC documentary called “The young ones”.

My ambition is still to play one day at Blackpool’s tower ballroom & my hope for the future is that this kind of dancing continues for many more years to come.

Happy Dancing.

Larry.
